Simulations 1.5 Upgrade and May 2006 AICPA Released Simulations

Overview:
This application will update the 2006 Edition of the Becker CPA Review Simulations and Final Exam software to be compatible with AICPA Simulations 1.5, which is targeted for rollout in the April 2006 exam window. This upgrade is only applicable to the 2006 Edition. This upgrade should NOT be applied to any other versions.

This update should be applied by all students using the Becker CPA Review 2006 Edition course.

This is a cumulative update for the 2006 Edition CBT software. In addition to upgrading the software, the following fixes are also included:

• AICPA simulations released in May 2006 for Financial, Audit, and Regulation will be included as homework simulations.
• In Audit 1 homework simulation, the "Opinion" tab instructions will be corrected to include the necessary information to answer the tab.
• The Multiple Choice Questions in Regulation Final Exam #1 will be updated to grade the testlet correctly.
• Section 179 of the Tax Code will be added to the Tax Code database.
• FAS 130 Paragraphs 22-33 will be added to the Financial Authoritative Literature database.

Installation Instructions
Please follow the steps below to run this extension. To make it easier to follow these instructions, print this page first.

1. Click on CBT Simulations 1.5 Update Utility link here.
   
2. You should see the file download dialog box. Please note that this is an executable file. Ignore any warnings in this dialog box regarding harmful or malicious code. Click 'Save' in the download file dialog box. If your browser does not display the file download dialog box, close any browser warnings, then right-click on this link and select Save As (or Save Target As) in the pop-up menu.
   
3. Save the file somewhere on your computer that you can find easily (i.e. your desktop).
   
4. Close the browser and all other windows on your computer. Make sure that the Becker Simulations and Final Exam software is NOT running. Running the update while the Becker simulations software is open will generate errors and may cause corruption in the application and databases.
   
5. Find the file you just downloaded and double-click on it (Sim15Updater.exe). The CBT Simulation 1.5 Update Utility wizard will start.
   
6. Click on the Setup button and follow the instructions in the CBT Simulations 1.5 Update Utility wizard to apply the updates. The utility will close automatically once the update is complete.
   
7. Once the update has finished, you may remove or delete the update utility file from your computer.
   
8. The next time you open a homework simulation or a final exam, you will notice the new user interface and functionality in simulations.
